As part of a generous gift to establish an endowed gift fund from the 3M Foundation, these grants support students to develop laboratory and leadership skills for graduate school and professional careers, and help faculty advance their research or pilot new projects. Student-Faculty Collaborative Grants provide opportunities for student-faculty collaborative research in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). (Note: For the purposes of this grant, psychology and other disciplines in the social sciences are not included in the STEM designation.)
Funding amount is up to $5,000, with $2,000 devoted to the student researcher, $1,000 devoted to the faculty mentor, and $2,000 set aside for supplies/research expenses. Additional funds (not to exceed $100) may be available to cover the costs of preparation of posters and related presentation materials for The Sr. Seraphim Gibbons Undergraduate Symposium to celebrate scholarship and collaborative research.
Eligibility: All ÃÛÌÒTV faculty members are eligible to apply. Priority will be given to ranked faculty (see for definitions) who have not received a 3M STEM grant within the past two years.
Deadline: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
